Preparing for your JainCamp Experience

 

The camp is just around the corner... This Thursday to be precise, and we want to make sure you have everything you will need to make your JainCamp experience complete.

Drop Off: Thursday, August 14 between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM
Pick Up: Sunday, August 17 at 4:00 PM
Location: Jain Centre
48 Rosemeade Avenue (Royal York and Queensway)
Etobicoke, ON

Also, here is a list of things that you should bring to camp with you. Please ensure that you account for everything.

We are pleased to inform you that we will celebrate Raksha Bandhan at camp this year on August 16, 2008. Parents are welcome to visit the campsite between 4 pm and 5 pm to visit the campers and celebrate Raksha Bandhan on site.

The campsite is located at 14009, 6th Line Nassagaweya, near Acton (Halton Hills). Detailed directions are available at http://fodoweb.ca/bluesprings/directions.asp.

Registration open for JainCamp '08

 

The Summer is here and that means the Annual Jain Youth Camp is just around the corner. This year the camp will be held from August 14 - 17, 2008 at a new location in Acton, Ontario. The theme of JainCamp 2008 is - The Endangered Jain?

We've incorporated your suggestions from last year and have designed this year's camp with lots of interesting, interactive and fun activities tailored to our theme, and you.

Our enthusiastic young team has worked hard all year round to bring to you the best 4-day experience yet. Registration is open and and spaces are filling up quicly. Submit your form on the website and send in your checks for $140 to "IMJM Canada" ASAP to reserve yourself a spot now! Please mention the camper name on the check as well.

If you have any questions about the camp, please don't hesitate to email back or give Kroopa (416 627 8595), Upasana (416 710 8774) or Nav (416 277 4164) a call. We promise every year to bring you a better camp and this year's camp will be more fun than ever.


JainCamp DVD on sale now!

 

Cheers to everyone who came out to support the camp at the JSOT Diwali function and then onto stage to participate in some dancing. Those who were not able to purchase the DVD, please do so by contacting either Nav or Kroopa. It's $10 apiece and consists of everything that we were able to capture at camp. Annual Jain Youth Camp 2007 in Paris, ON

 

A big shout-out to all our counselors and volunteers without whom this camp would not have been possible.

JainCamp 2006 at London, ON...

 

Kudos to all who came out to JainCamp this year for an awesome awesome experience!! Holi and Kabbadi were fun as always, but we cannot forget the Mantras, Dance night, the pranks... and all the sessions too!

A BIG thank you to all our counsellors for their hard work... we wouldn't have been able to make this camp as awesome as it is without you guys and we are all now looking forward to next year.

Jain Camp 2005 in Niagara Falls!

 

Shout out to the Crazy Swastikas, the Jainsters, the Hurricanes, Yellow Monks and the Mighty Monks. That was a wicked party that we had in Niagara Falls.....

Kabadi....who knew giving spontaneous tight hugs was so much fun
Let's play holi....ahhh so many colours...all in our ears
The creative sessions, the intellectual sessions and the dances in the sessions for coming late
Diwali night...we all know the 5 step now, group bhangra, and love late night samosas, kachori and dhokla
The walk to the falls and running to get back on time for the sesison
Cricket.... a hat-trick on debut and the countless chokkas (4 runs) and chhakkas (6 runs)
Rap music mantras
Of course, the midnight get togethers of teaching each others the uses of shaving cream, balloons and water, tissues and water, how to properly stack away beds and team work
and how can we forget the crazy energy level at the camp without any sugar...hmmm must have been the food
